Knuffle Kid

We adore Melbourne-based Knuffle Kid for the way they manage to invoke all the bestest, funnest parts of being a kid, and translate it into totally wearable, and extremely cute, clothing.
Their summer collection is loosely based around the Hansel and Gretel fairytale - and we'd believe it - couldn't you just picture Gretel wearing those little red shorts? And we love the way red buttons adorn each tee-shirt like candy dotted to a gingerbread house. Pure magic.

'The Hansel' top is unisex, made from organic cotton jersey

Giant Floor Puzzles

There's nothing quite so idyllic as sitting down to complete a jigsaw puzzle on a lazy sunday morning. This one is so colourful, it'll wake you right up!

Ella loves her Patrick Hruby puzzle!
The giant pieces and bold colours mean kids can do it all by themselves (this is something mine insisted upon). Which means you can do what I did: sit back, read the paper, and commend them on a job well done...

Cullyn decides to lend a helping hand - teamwork, yeah!

"Ta-da!"

Patrick Hruby and Charley Harper floor puzzles are in store for just $29 a pop.

Amelie and Atticus Bloomers

Darling bloomers made by Thouraya, who is also the lady behind this loveliness
can now be found in store.

Handsewn from gorgeous cotton fabrics and in sizes up to 12 months, these shorts are just as lovely paired with a plain white tee shirt, as they are beneath a frilly party dress.

They're generously sized too, so even our cloth-nappy wearing friends can hop on
the bloomer bandwagon.

Fancy a Hike?

Ah, can you smell that fresh mountain air? Maybe not...but let's channel the wilderness, just for a minute. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just pitch a tent by a nice, cool stream, sit back and listen to the birds, and sip hot cocoa by a crackling camp fire. Well we can dream.
And at least in our daydreams we won't have our campsite ransacked by possums or end up with a collection of mozzie bites...

Our Knitting Angels

Meet Margret and Carol, the mother-daughter-wonder-team who have lovingly been knitting toys for Shorties for over five years.
All of Margret and Carols handknitted toys have very special personalities.

Here is Ellie, and he came to Shorties to find a loving home.

This smart fellow has a very 'Newtown' hairstyle

New Artiwood Toys

We love Artiwood. These high quality wooden toys are ethically and sustainably produced, and serve as a reminder to us parents that going back to basics is always a good idea. We just unpacked 10 boxes of Artiwood goodies in store; here's a taste:

Why did the pirate buy an eye-patch?
Because he couldn't afford an Ipad.
Terrible jokes aside, we sure have a soft spot for this awesome handpainted skittles set $55

Equestrian box set $49
Artiwood box sets are really special, and kids just adore them. They'll be dreaming up fantastical stories and games with these beautifully themed sets, and best of all, when it's time to pack up, the pieces fit neatly in the wooden tray.
